What is abstract art to you and is it real art or a joke to you?

Abstact art started when newer forms of expession were needed further than figuration. Abstraction exists before it; it's the capability of figuring out further reality. Numbers, for example, are abstractions. 2 has no meaning if there won't exist two apples or two oranges.
