Why do you many people like cold hard facts (science an maths) instead of abstract and broad facts (art,Eng)?

I think it's just our nature...people like one straight answer that we know will be correct, but I believe a lot of us are changing and now take a liking to impressionism and the the different views on which a piece of writing or art conveys to us. It's a different meaning for everyone. But hard facts mean we are secure and security is comforting to most of us
