If you switch a pokemon in the middle of a battle will they still get the EVs?

so I'm EV training axew and it became badly damaged so I switched pokemon to avoid an necessary trip to the pokemon centre and it occurred to me, will switching axew still give it the 2 EVs for the pokemon or will it give it to the new pokemon I just sent out? (or would it share between the 2?)
